Millie Devine - Estate Planner, & Founder of Southeastern CT Womens Network
Millie Devine is the Founder of the Southeastern Connecticut Women’s Network. The Network is comprised of women who represent various businesses and organizations throughout Southeastern CT. For over 30 years, this group has empowered women as business owners and working professionals.
Millie is the owner of Devine Planning – a consulting firm specializing in estate planning, planned giving and grants advisement serving individuals, for profit businesses, and non-profit organizations. In addition she trains boards in their fiduciary responsibilities as well as their fundraising obligations.
Millie received a BA with honors in Business Administration
from Upper Iowa University, Fayette, Iowa. She is 1978
graduate of the National Graduate Trust School at
Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. She is a
Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA) and an
Accredited Estate Planner ® (AEP®).
Millie worked for the Trust & Investment Group of Shawmut
Bank (now Bank of America) in various capacities for 32 years
retiring as Vice President in January, 1997. During her career
she administered four private foundations for 20 years. Millie
is currently a Trust Officer with Dime Bank as well as a
Consultant specializing in planned giving, estate planning and
grants application advisement.
Millie is very much involved in civic and professional
organizations having served as president of the
Estate and Tax Planning Council of Eastern Connecticut and
numerous other professional and social service boards. She is
a Paul Harris Fellow with sapphires and past president of New
London Rotary Club; founder, past president and member of
Southeastern Connecticut Women’s Network; and is
currently serving as a Corporator of Lawrence & Memorial
Hospital. She is also a Member of the New London
Development Corporation; National Committee on Planned
Giving; Member, Planned Giving Group of Connecticut; and a
Board Member, Chamber of Commerce of Eastern
Connecticut Foundation and Catholic Charities. Millie has
made numerous presentations and teaches grant writing
through New London Adult & Continuing Education.
